At Dr Richard Tinlin and Associates, we are a child and family friendly dentist in Central Hong Kong that strives to follow your children’s dental care needs, from getting baby teeth through to teenage years.
Looking after children’s teeth, and teaching them the importance of oral hygiene, is important as it gives them a head start for a life of good dental health.
Your child’s first check-up
We recommend bringing your child for a dental examination between age two to two-and-a-half. Bringing your child with you to your own dental check-up before this time can be beneficial to familiarise them with the dental environment.
At your child’s first appointment, our dentists will check their teeth, reinforce teeth cleaning techniques and give dietary advice.
Our general dentists also work closely with orthodontists and a dental health educator to ensure children’s dental needs are addressed at all stages of their development.
Making children comfortable
We understand that visiting the dentist can be daunting for children, so we endeavor to explain all procedures simply and in their language. With this in mind, their journey from the waiting room through to the dental suite is soft and caring.
We help relax nervous or anxious children with relative analgesia, a method of breathing a mixture of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oxygen.
If your child requires orthodontic work, our specialist orthodontist, Dr Michael Cooke, will discuss your options and fees with you so you can make an informed decision. Find out more at our Orthodontics page.
Dental health educator
We have a Dental Health Educator who works from our Discovery Bay clinic who can make school visits to educate children about managing their dental health. To enquire, call +852 2987 0855 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
